Reconciliation

Reconciliation has it's pros and cons.

In friendship or any relationship for that matter, reconciliation should be a practice during bad fights and arguments. Reconciliation helps us develop understanding skills among people and teaches us to be more cautious of how we act or what we say. We learn not to offend others by reconciliation and we maintain a stable relationship with someone we care about sincerely.

So yeah, you patch things up with someone, you make amends and you sincerely and most genuinely feel sorry for what has happened. Yet, do you get self-satisfactory in return? No, you do not. Probably because sometimes reconciliation is more then apologizing texts, letters, talks, hugs, sweet nostalgic memory lanes. Reconciliation requires acceptance of both parties. May they be bitter or they be delighted, acceptance is vital. If one of the parties does not accept a reconciliation and is not ready to put things in the past behind, you better hope on reconciliation next time.

Failed reconciliation adds up to unhappiness and therefore, in hopes to rekindle a once broken friendship is not easy. Time's a good healer and in time such things would be resolved. However, how long would one take till the other one gives up? There comes effort. Effort is also vital in reconciliation. Without effort who would ever break the stone hard ice? Efforts cannot be one sided for it is useless. How long can you stand sucking up to people who do not show that they even care for you the tiniest bit? Of course, if you wish to counter my story with the "but we're best friends, we'll be together through thick or thin" shit, you're most welcome to.

What kind of friends does not accept you for who you are? What kind of friends does not understand you for who you are? What kind of friends tell you to not befriend with 'R' and a second later she befriends with 'R'? What kind of friends avoid you? What kind of friends control you? What kind of friends judge you? What kind of friend purposely tells you thing you would not like to hear and ends up breaking your heart? - Many would point to " A Friend That Cares About You"

I strongly disagree. Firstly, FRIEND'S do not judge. Even if you might be a classic bimbo, annoying or very insensitive at times, a true friend sees the future you have with her. Still being friends when you're older and accepting that she loves you because of who you are, not for the sake of the title "Bestfriends". Secondly, FRIEND'S do not tell you what to do and what to not do. Live your life the way you want it considerably. Do not harm anyone in anyway and do not let anyone push what you like to do aside. A true friend, even if she dislikes what you do, will eventually understand that it's YOUR life. HOWEVER, ACCEPT ADVISES. If your friend advises you, don't mistake it for her nagging you. The best advises you can get sometimes is not from your parents but from your friends because they should understand you the best. Learn to differentiate between demanding you to change and advising you to change. Thirdly, about friends who purposely upsets you and ruin your day. Yeah yeah, it may be unintentional to talk about the things you DON'T LIKE to talk about. Oh come on. If you're my bestfriend for how many long years, don't act as if you are a stranger to me. A friend who does not listen to what you have to say, is not a good friend. Trust me. If you have ever been ignored, pushed aside and shut up by a friend when you are talking. Fuck it. Don't expect much out of it. Real friends would remember 20years later what you said. Alright, maybe i'm exaggerating about 20. But ponder on the message i'm trying to convey in there. Fourth, FRIEND'S that claims they don't care about friendship and feels that FRIEND'S come and go, is most upsetting. Especially when they're your best friend.

I guess time off from friends got me thinking about all the possibilities of a friendship to actually last. I am fed up. That's all. I'm always trying to keep everyone together but if everyone is not on the same road as i am, how is it supposed to happen?
